Distribution centre Associates recruitment campaign

The brief was to develop a recruitment campaign to attract candidates for the existing and on-going Distribution Centre vacancies. The campaign needed to have wide appeal to attract everyone in Weymouth, from school leavers through to the grey market.

To aid recruitment in the future, New Look also needed to raise its profile and change the perception locally. We proposed a mix of PR, advertising, outdoor promotion and support activities in order to meet the above objectives.

Activities included:

• Press releases in the local press designed to raise profile & change perception locally

• A series of career-led advertorials in the local press profiling different types of employees, e.g., mum returner, grey market, etc.

• A series of Career Columns in the local press, offering a Q&A platform for employment issues

• A series of career-based radio interviews

• Sponsorship of the local carnival and other local community events

• Establish and maintain links with local government bodies & employment services

• Local press advertising

• Local radio advertising

• Bus advertising

• Bus shelter advertising

• Posters & leaflets displayed in local job centres, leisure centres and New Look outlets

• Car park advertising

• Roundabout sponsorship

• An Open Day giving a glimpse inside New Look.

The campaign was a huge success in terms of changing local perception and getting bums on seats!
